Will 35-inch tires fit a TJ Wrangler with a 2-inch lift?
Fitment answer · Updated October 27, 2026
Short answer
Not easily. On a 2-inch TJ, 35s usually hit the flares and fenders at full flex unless you add high-clearance flares, a body lift or tall bump stops. Most owners go to 3 to 4 inches of lift for 35s.
Shop the gear for this build ↓ Tires, deflators and a compressor picked for this setup.
What you usually need
- High-clearance flares or trimming, or a small body lift.
- Tall bump stops to limit up-travel.
- Wheels with about 3.75-inch backspacing.
Regearing
35s on a TJ usually need gears around 4.56 or 4.88. Compare ratios in the Tire & Gear Calculator before you buy gears.
