Will 37-inch tires fit a Jeep TJ with a 4-inch lift?
Fitment answer · Updated October 27, 2026
Short answer
Not without major work. 37s on a 4-inch TJ usually need fender trimming or flat fenders, big bump stops and low-backspacing wheels, and the stock Dana 30 and Dana 35 axles are weak for 37s. Most owners go taller, or stop at 35s.
Shop the gear for this build ↓ Tires, deflators and a compressor picked for this setup.
What you usually need
- Flat or trimmed fenders and longer bump stops.
- Wheels with about 3.75-inch backspacing or less.
- Stronger axles (many swap or build them) and upgraded steering.
Regearing
37s on a TJ usually need 5.13 or deeper gears. Compare ratios in the Tire & Gear Calculator before you buy gears.
