Will 37-inch tires fit a JL Wrangler with a 3.5-inch lift?
Fitment answer · Updated October 27, 2026
Short answer
Yes, with supporting parts. A 3.5-inch lift is a common base for 37s on a JL, but you usually still need high-clearance fenders or trimming, longer bump stops, the right wheel backspacing and a regear. Non-Rubicon axles take more stress.

What you usually need
- High-clearance fenders or trimmed liners.
- Bump stops sized for 37s.
- Wheels with less backspacing; check steering stops at full lock.
- Adjustable control arms and an alignment.
Regearing
37s almost always call for a regear, often to around 4.88 or 5.13. Compare ratios in the Tire & Gear Calculator before you buy gears.
Drivetrain caveats
- The Dana 30 front on Sport and Sahara is the weak link; many owners upgrade.
- Heavier tires wear steering parts and brakes faster.

- Mud-terrain tires (search) — Louder on the highway; buy for real mud use.

- Staun tire deflators — Repeatable trail pressures.
