Will 35-inch tires fit a 4-door JL Wrangler Unlimited?
Fitment answer · Updated October 27, 2026
Short answer
It depends on the trim. A 4-door JL Rubicon often fits 35s with bump stop spacers or a small leveling kit. Sport and Sahara models sit lower; most owners add about 2–2.5 inches of lift. The heavier 4-door feels 35s more than a 2-door, so check your gearing.

What you usually need
- On Sport or Sahara: a 2–2.5 inch lift or leveling kit.
- Bump stop spacers to stop rubbing at full flex.
- Wheels with about 4.5–5-inch backspacing.
- A spare carrier check for the heavier 35-inch spare.
Regearing
Rubicons with 4.10 gears usually manage 35s; 3.45 or 3.73 trucks often regear to 4.56 or 4.88. Compare ratios in the Tire & Gear Calculator before you buy gears.
