Will 35-inch tires fit a stock JK Rubicon?
Fitment answer · Updated October 27, 2026
Short answer
Not well without changes. A stock JK Rubicon has the same fender height as other JKs, so 35s usually rub at full flex and full lock. Owners who skip a lift typically add high-clearance fenders, bump stop extensions and wheels with less backspacing. The Rubicon's 4.10 gears handle 35s better than other JKs.

Why it rubs
- Stock JK flares sit low for a 35-inch tire.
- Factory backspacing puts the tire near the control arms at full lock.
Regearing
The Rubicon's 4.10 gears make 35s drivable for many owners, especially with the later 3.6 engine; 4.56 or 4.88 feels better. Compare ratios in the Tire & Gear Calculator before you buy gears.
