Will 37-inch tires fit a JL Wrangler with a 2-inch lift?
Fitment answer · Updated October 27, 2026
Short answer
Only with compromises. A 2-inch JL is at the very bottom for 37s: expect high-clearance fenders, tall bump stops that limit flex and low-backspacing wheels. Most owners go 2.5–3.5 inches for 37s.
Shop the gear for this build ↓ Tires, deflators and a compressor picked for this setup.
What you usually need
- High-clearance fenders or trimmed flares.
- Tall bump stops, which cut up-travel.
- Wheels with about 4.5-inch backspacing or less.
- Heavier-duty steering parts and spare carrier.
Regearing
Plan on 4.88 or 5.13 gears for 37s on a JL. Compare ratios in the Tire & Gear Calculator before you buy gears.
